FAQ
questions we get asked often. . .
Q: what are these twigs?
A: bareroot trees! one of the reason we are about to provide such affordable trees is because we are shipping one year old (typically) saplings. they may look small but they haave strong, vigorous root systems & are ready to go! trees also don’t like being moved around too much, so when you are able to plant them young, your odds of having a healthy well-established tree increase significantly. they’re also much easier to send in the mail when they’re small, so we are able to ship them across the country.
Q: when will i get my trees?
A: trees are shipped out twice a year when they are dormant (sleeping)—in the late winter/early spring (late march - april) and then in the late fall (october/november). this ensures there is much less risk of transplant shock. fall planting is best in our humble opinion, as trees roots can grow in cool temperatures and this allows the trees to sleep all winter in their new home & wake up in the spring well-rooted & hydrated.
Q: can i come visit?
A: we aren’t open to the public at this time. you can come pick-up plants farm-gate, and we are happy to answer your questions via email. we do hope to have farm tours/workshops in the near future though, so stay tuned!
