miscanthus (miscanthus x giganteus) - also known as silver grass. a high-yielding, non invasive fast growing grass native to eastern asia. this tall growing grass is used for borders, ground cover & soil retention. it isn’t picky in regards to the soil that it can grow in, tolerating a wide array of pH but doesn’t want to be too dry. used traditionally for alternative building (roof thatching, etc) and now as biofuel.
