limebalm (melissa officinalis ssp. altissim) - a unique sub-species of lemonbalm, limebalm is almost succulent and downy in appearance, but the leaves when crushed are very citrus-like in scent. makes a nice nibbling herb or can be used for tea. grows up to 2’tall. mediteranean plant. seems to overwinter fine here no problem. spreads a bit slower than lemonbalm. wants full sun.
