albizia julibrissin - also called persian silk tree. originally from iran & china, has naturalized in parts of america. a very uniquely appearing tree with green, fern-like leaves & feathery, silk-like, fragrant pink flowers. can grow up to 40ft tall. prefers full sun, prefers well-drained soil but adaptable. the bark & flowers are used in traditional chinese medicine & western herbalism. often called the ‘tree of happiness’ in chinese. attracts pollinators and adds quite the garden feature.

hardiness zone 6-9

*cannot guarantee that this species will overwinter here, we are pushing the zone boundaries. can be planted in a sheltered, south facing area and well-mulched over the winter to help ensure its survival. ours is over-wintering at zone 6 just fine.

currently 12-18” tall

** all trees will be sold as bare root saplings in march/april AND oct/nov by pre-order only.
