pawpaw seeds

from $10.00

asimina triloba - the unicorn of the fruit world. a small, deciduous, under-story tree native to north eastern turtle island (north america). bearing a large, custard-textured fruit reminiscent to mango/avocado. grows slowly and up to 14ft tall. needs another tree for pollination. prefers rich, moist soils. full sun to part shade (prefers some afternoon shade). pawpaws are a bit unusual in the fact that they don’t rely on bees for pollination, but flies & beetles.

each package contains 4 seeds

hardiness zone 5-8

*these seeds have begun the germination process, and need to stay cold and damp until spring. they can be kept in the fridge with a moist paper towel or sawdust. they can be planted out once the ground has thawed, in pots or direct seeded.
