malus baccata -a hardy deciduous crabapple tree, native to asia & known for its cold tolerance & beauty. prefers well-drained soils but is adaptable. full sun. can grow up to 50ft depending on it’s growing situation. flowers are large clusters, white & showy in the early springtime. used as an ornamental, as well as popular in hardy grafting root-stock for apple trees. the tart fruits are yellow-ish red in color, and usually about an inch large, used in jams & jellies. hardiness zone 2-7

*need more than one tree for better pollination & fruit production

currently 12-18” tall

** all trees will be sold as bare root saplings in march/april AND oct/nov by pre-order only.
