cornus albus - is a resilient, swiftly growing shrub that is enjoyed for it's year round visual appeal. topping out at between 5-9feet tall and 4-6feet wide and forming a rounded bush, it is a nice ornamental add to the garden or yard. it thrives in full sun to part shade and isn't scared to get its feet wet (damp spots don't bother it). the foilage is cream and green variegated leaves in the summer, changing to purple and red in the fall and the red bright bark stands out against the snow in the wintertime. the flowers provide nectar for pollinators and it generally resists deer browsing.
