burbank plum (prunus salicina ‘burbank’) - this plum was bred by luther burbank, who sourced saplings from japan and selected this cultivar for its substantial & abundant crimson skinned, golden-amber fruit. the trees themselves can reach up to 25 or 30ft tall, and have beautiful, fragrant white blossoms in the spring. they prefer full sun and well draining soil and **produce best with another tree for a pollinator.
