geranium macrorrhizum - an incredibly resilient & fragrant spreading groundcover. it can tolerate very dry soil, full shade & other conditions that most plants wont. it forms such a dense groundcover that weeds have a hard time poking through. though it spreads, it is not difficult to pull out. native to central & southern europe. the flowers are small, dark pink & delicate, and are long lasting, flowering from june to august. not frost tender. it is the foilage which is fragrant, releasing even more of a scent when crushed. some describe it as a spicy, citrusy smell. deer & rabbit resistant. great for edging pathways or keeping other creeping plants at bay.
