pineberry white strawberries bareroot plants

from $8.00

(fragaria x ananassa) white strawberries (also known as pineberry) are a delicious & hardy perennial strawberry! they can withstand cold temperatures & have a distinct taste, somewhere between pineapple and a traditional strawberry flavour. pineberries were developed from crossing strawberries from south and north america. pineberries have prolific runners & are easy to propogate once established. their flowers suport wildlife such as bees, hoverflies, butterflies and occasionally hummingbirds. they prefer full sun, but can tolerate part shade. they prefer well-drained, rich garden soil. mulch well to keep the fruit clean and off the dirt. one of the best things about pineberries is that birds are tricked into thinking they are un-ripe, so they are often left untouched by birds and rodents.

hardiness zone - 4-8

pick-up available in phinneys cove, NS /mi’kma’ki or shipped out by canada post (only in canada)
